The NRA Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Course

This course exposes students to the basics of reloading centerfire metallic cartridges with little or no prior experience in reloading.

Although the course can be completed as quickly as 6 hour, the amount of information presented, and the probability of intensive question and answer sessions on the included topics, makes it likely that the course will take longer. (class is officially 8 hours in length)

Students will receive the NRA Guide to Reloading handbook and intensive lessons on the basics of reloading and a course completion certificate.

Course Goal

Lessons Include:

• Introduction to Reloading and Reloading Safety
• Centerfire Cartridge Components
• Using the Reloading Manual and Reloading Data
• Metallic Cartridge Reloading Equipment
• The Metallic Cartridge Reloading Process (Rifle and Pistol)
• Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading Practical Hands-On Exercise
• Course Review and Examination (50 question open book, multiple choice)

Prerequisites – There are no prerequisites for taking this course.

*General Published course dates require a minimum of 2 students to hold class* Students will be notified of any course date changes.

Hands-on Experience
Students will be provided use of all necessary equipment and components to complete both a Rifle Cartridge and Pistol Cartridge under instructor supervision.

Materials Required for Course
Students need to bring eye protection, materials to take notes, and a lunch if you want for the midday 30-minute break.
